Holidadadaday.

The emerald green color on my index, middle and pinkie is Rimmel-Camouflage.  The thumb and ring finger have Wet 'n Wild Morbid and then Milani Gems on the thumb and Gold on the ring finger.  I meant to get a better shot of Gems and compare it with China Glaze party Hearty but I forgot.  I'll have to do it in the future.

Mr. Bugaboo.

He is my heart.  Definitely my little soul dog.

Wet 'n Wild Morbid with Milani-Gems

I went to CVS today looking for Revlon Perplex and saw the Milani glitters!  This one is way more awesome than the photos show.  While I do not own Lippman's Happy Birthday it appears that Gems is a hyrid of Happy Birthday and China Glaze-Party Hearty.  Love.

Milani-Gold over Wet 'n Wild-Morbid.

This one is gorgeous but the application on this was much worse than Gems.  I'm not sure why though.  Plain gold glitter in a clear base.  This will definitely add bling if you need it.

Sinful Colors-Under 18

Hate hate hate the name of the polish.  Ugh.  But I love the polish itself.  Excuse the messy application.  This one will be a great full holiday boooom booom boooom red.

Wet 'n Wild-Morbid

Morbid is an accurate name.  This looked so promising in the bottle and going on.  However, it let me down like a wilting flower.  Seche Vite couldn't even make it shine.  Ah well.  I'm already considering taking it off but I can't stand the thought of remover scent.  I'm fighting a headache and that would be tempting fate.  I suppose I could tolerate it for one day.

Which Elf shall I be?

L-R on top of Rimmel Camouflage
Cover Girl-City Lights, China Glaze-Party Hearty, and China Glaze-Tinsel.

I think City Lights and Tinsel are a must have for everyone because they are so diverse.  And Party Hearty is a great seasonal one.  I didn't expect to like it as much as I do.

Dramatic Nails.

Ha.  Messing around with my camera phone.  This is the Holga effect.  I actually like it and would love to have this as the background to my blog but yeah, I'm not that savvy.

Zoya-Dovima

I put Borghese Presto on top hoping it would bring out the beauty of Dovima, but it didn't.  I definitely prefer this as a matte.  Unless Seche would do a better job.  WALRUS!  (David Attenborough has gotten to me)

Franken Lover

I spent the most time with this one.  I've thought about gifting it away but I just can't do it.  He and I have a relationship.  I probably should name him.  I will report back when the birth certificate is finalized.

Sallyl Hansen-Wet Cement and Attempting Frankeningggggggg

The first six colors of my franenpalooza.  I have run out of bottles.  This is fun.  And addicting.  I wish you could see the dark one better.  It's a dark black/blue with a bright blue glitter.

Wet 'n Wild-Shiver

My father bought this one for me.  It was one that I did not think I was going to like although I've been searching for the perfect light blue to replace a favorite of mine from over ten years ago.  This one is a cross between a silver and baby blue.  I think it also helps that it worked well with my skin tone.  Either way, it will be worn again.

Sinful Colors-Mint Apple and Cover Girl-City Lights

Oh la la.  I can move the photos around.  Who knew?  This photo, while blurry, demonstrates the wonderful holographic rainbow of City Lights.  It's easily found and I am going to be personally responsible for everyone loving it.  I've said it before and will again.

A wonderful green.  It surprised me.  I didn't expect to like it so much.

Zoya-Dovima

Zoya-Dovima

I feel horrible that this picture does not capture the beauty of Dovima.  It is not dull although it is a Matte finish.  It is a dark gray with lots of little flecks of color.  If you aren't looking closely, it's easy to miss.

The cat is trouble.  Double trouble.  Just look at him.  All smug.

Rimmel-Camouflage

Rimmel-Camouflage
This is a gorgeous green.  Another surprise!  I like it so much that I am going to have to clean up the bottle.  I can't have it disrespected like that.  Of all the greens I own, this may be my favorite.  This includes the Zoya greens I got earlier this year.

More Playing

I played with Hard Candy Mr. Wrong and layering.  Mr. Wrong is on my thumb.   Index has OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous on it.  I thought they might be a dupe but Lucerne-tainly has a much more blue/green tone to it.  Middle finger has a sheer fushia that I frankened on it.  Ring finger has Borghese Carnevale Grape on top.  Pinkie has a sheer purple I frankened as well.  I think layering on top of Mr. Wrong will occur for a full manicure in the future.  My favorite is the Borghese Carnevale Grape on top.  Sheer polishes obviously work best.

China Glaze-Sugar Plums

This picture doesn't do it justice.  I hate how great the pics look when I take them but when they upload they become dulled.  Boo.  Anyways, I can't believe this one has not received more love.  No problemo, more for me.

Hard Candy-Mr. Wrong

I have had this one for ages but just now got around to swatching it.  I like it better on than I thought.  I don't see the purple in it very well though.  It is a dark gold foil.  There may be purple/blue undertones that are faint, but at least indoors at night I cannot tell.

She who plays.

I am trying to figure out which Android camera app works best to upload photos.  As well as which setting.  This one won't be it because the fisheye is kind of wonky but it shows the colors well.  This is one of my first frankens on top of Wet 'n Wild Blazed.  If you look at the bottle you can see it still hasn't fully mixed.  I need to buy some BB pellets to mix it up.

Wet 'n Wild-Blazed

This was another one my father bought me.  It's brighter than this picture.  I can't decide if it's coral or pink.  I shall stick with it being Salmon.  I needed a break from all the dark colors.  I've had a rough week and needed something brighter.  It lasted less than 24 hours before I started messing with it and eventually taking it off.  Each hand right now is painted a different color.  Who knows how many more I shall swatch before the night ends.

Revlon-Silver/Sally Hansen-Wet Cement Comparsion

Pretty close dupe.  Revlon Silver on top and Sally Hansen Wet Cement on bottom.  Silver is just a tad bit lighter.  Weird name considering it's grey.  Or gray.

Wet 'n Wild-Night Prowl versus Nicole by OPI-Black to the Future

Very close.  My pinkie is Night Prowl.  It's brighter, the glitter is a bit bigger and has a more pink tone.  Not necessary to have both unless you look in the sunlight or like to collect :)
Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.5

Someone needs to learn how to clean up prior to taking pics...

Pinkie to pointer.
Wet 'n Wild-Night Prowl, Nicole by OPI-Black to the Future, Nicole by OPI-Bah Plum-Bug! and Sally Hansen-Thinking of Blue.

Night Prowl and Black to the Future are almost dupes.  Night prowl is brighter (pics don't show this well), the glitter is a bit larger and more pink.

What color do I wear?!

Thumb to Pinkie.
Sally Hansen-Cherry Red, Wet 'n Wild-Champagne, Sally Hansen-Wet Cement, Sally Hansen-Fairy Teal and Sally Hansen-Going Green.

Dinosaur eggs? Sure.

I was getting bored with the pink.  So I put on two coats of OPI Wing It!  Still bored.  Then I used Zoya Dovima to make the dots.  And used Essie Matte top coat.  End result above.

The Pre-mattified dinosaur egg.

I put a top coat on top of the manicure and then decided to mattify it.  Which is in the next post.

Rite Aid Haul

If you have any Sally Hansen polishes you want and have a Rite Aid, I'd head over there.  They are currently BOGOF.  I purchased the following L-R:  Thinking of Blue, Fairy Teal, Cherry Red, Wet Cement and Wet 'n Wild Night Prowl and Champagne.

Sally Hansen-Pink Boa

Pink Boa is a bright fuschia color.  I am hoping that this will end my search to replace my favorite fuschia polish that got too thick.  I tried using Seche Restore, but no luck.  It is waiting to be used on the hopeful repeat of Zoya's recycling nail polish program from last year.  Anyways, I will probably be adding OPI Wing It! later on today or tomorrow.  We'll see.  Either way, I'll post what I layer on top.

Models Own-Orange

I started uploading all the old photos on my phone.  This is a horrible picture but I still love the overall effect (affect? i can't tell you how many times i've looked up the definitions to remind myself of how to tell the difference).  I had some random red on and it was chipping in places.  I was in a hurry and had no time to redo my nails so I used Models Own Orange to fill in the gaps.  I got a lot of compliments on the look and need to try it with other colors soon!

Wet 'n Wild-202AP, Break The Ice

This was surprise for me.  I didn't expect to like it much and was planning on using it as a base or top coat for layering.  However after three coats I got the above look.  It has a very nice pearlized, snow white finish.  I'm not big on white polishes but this was a great one for me.  Sorry about coloring outside the lines.  I usually let the shower take care of that for me since I typically do my nails at night.

Naked Nails!

I have a top coat on, I believe it's Barielle.   I genetically have nice nails which is good since I don't do much with them.  I actually treat them horribly.

Revlon-Slipper

This is Revlon Slipper over a burgundy color.  I don't remember which one since this is an old picture.  I love the different sizes of glitter in this polish.  These glitters go on a little matte, so make sure you use a top coat.  My favorite is Seche Vite.  I've used Posche, Borghese, Barielle and Sally Hansen.

China Glaze-Blue Paradise

China Glaze Blue Paradise is a deep blue.  It's dark, but doesn't look black.  It's frosty, yet doesn't streak.  This may be my favorite blue.  I may say that again about a different blue in the future, but for now...it's Blue Paradise all the way.

Revlon-Star

Revlon Star is another one of the new glitters.  I don't know if you can find them in the stores anymore.  If you do, I'd pick them up immediately.  I lucked out with a new Walgreen's that opened.

Sinful Colors-Forget Now

I was surprised by how much I loved Forget Now.  It's a nice dark raspberry color.  Not red, not pink.  It has tiny bits of glitter, maybe it's a shimmer?  Overall I feel as though Sinful Colors is an underrated nail polish.  They are adventurous with their colors and the price and availability is great.  However, I am aware that for whatever reason they work better on me than others.  A lot of people complain of it chipping easy, but this is not a problem for me.  I use Barielle Hydrating Ridge Filler and then OPI Nail Envy.  Usually two to three coats of color and then Seche Vite on top.  I am very hard on my nails, I type a lot and work "in the field" so they are constantly exposed and working.  When I say field, I mean I'm not in the office, not an actual field although at times when driving in the country I do feel like I work on the farm.  Oh and the funky hand pose...I figured I'd try to go high fashion/couture with it.  I always feel like models looks ridiculous and like they have broken bones while posing and that was my inspiration for this picture.

Brown

This is my favorite brown.  My Aunt gave it to me about ten years ago in a no-name makeup set.  I'm trying to find a replacement but no luck so far.  You can't see how gorgeous it is here, but ah well.  There will be another time I am sure.  It's a dark brown that glows with brown shimmer.  I am horrible at describing shades and whether they are shimmer/frost etc. but I'm learning!

Say What?

I was taking off my nail polish and look at what happened!  I had purple spots on and it took those off first.  Such a freak accident.  I wonder if I could recreate this for a whole manicure?

Sally Hansen-Diamonds

I added Sally Hansen topcoat in Diamonds. I love the effect it has on every polish ive used it on. A must have for polish lovers.

Rimmel-Don't Touch

Another find by my father at the jockey lot.  It's looks more like that pinkie/ring finger that is stuck in the shade.  And yep, I chopped my fingernails off!  Mine grow so fast and typing becomes an issue.  And if anyone is wondering why my pictures always have some shade in most cases, I figure it's easier to see it all on one hand if possible.  We've had a few overcast days, so no sunshine has been available.  I'm already thinking of what color to do next.  I have more polish that is new since I went on a what felt like a month long shopping spree!

China Glaze-Mrs. Claus over Wet 'n Wild Burgundy Frost

Mrs. Claus is gorgeous.  This is two coats over my two coats of Burgundy Frost.  It is way brighter than this picture shows and it went on with ease.  Next time I'm going to do it on it's own and I doubt it will need more than two coats.
