My Deborah Lipmman-Glitter In The Air Dupe

Sorry about the picture quality.  I kept on forgetting to take a pic today in the sun!  So this is my try at Glitter In The Air.  I'd say I did a pretty good job and feel no need to buy it at all.  I used the little bit of Barielle Ridge Filler that was left, Sally Hansen White On, a few drops of Sally Hansen Grey Area (which is actually a dark dusty purple) and the Milani Gems glitter.  I have one more to wear that has a more pink base and a few posts ago I showed the blue based one.  Also, DOG BUTT.  Heh.  I love when my dog lays like this.  But it only happens when serious dog bone business is occurring.  So here ya go!

My Attempts to Dupe Deborah Lippman's Glitter In The Air

The main players in my first one.  I then made a light blue and light pink base ones.
Pretty good dupe if you ask me and a whole lot cheaper!

My thumb is Sally Hansen Grey Area which I added a few drops to the original Glitter In The Air Dupe.  Here you can see the other two dupes on my index and middle finger.  I had China Glaze Heli-Yum on my pinky with Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure on top.  I was just messing around with the polish on my desk.

The next day they were able to play in the sun and I did a full manicure with the light blue one, which will be up tomorrow!  All in all, I would call my frankens a success.

My Ugliest Manicure to Date.

It all started out well enough.  LA Girls Icon.  It reminds me of Zoya Kelly or Misa Office Polish-tics although I haven't swatched them.  It does have one difference though, a slight gold shimmer.

And then I decided to crackle.  My middle finger and thumb turned out horribly although I was being careful to make sure to put on thick layers to get the big cracks.  And I had made sure the bottle was mixed well before I used it.  Apparently not well enough.  Lightning Bolt....ugh.  I immediately wanted to give it away and take my manicure off.  But no, I decided to go deeper into the ugly.

I thought adding the purple crackle, Fault Line on top would make up for those two horrible nails.  But no.  They did not have a crackle love baby and it just looked like I put purple polish on top.  To further the ugly, I then added Sinful Colors Deep Red Ocean.   Which in fact should be named Deep Pink Ocean.  There is nothing red about it.  I have nothing left to say other than I apologize to my nails and eyes.

China Glaze Crackle Polishes!!!

I'm so excited!  Even though I'm in strep throat steroid and antibiotics land, I had to do a little swatch for you!

Left to right:  Crushed Candy, Black Mesh, Broken Hearted, Fault Line, Cracked Concrete and Lightning Bolt

Lightning Bolt, probably my least favorite.
 Fault Line-It's gorgeous!
Broken Hearted-a deep and bright pink.

Crushed Candy-I love this one and how it looks with the turqoise.  The name baffles me though!
Black Mesh-Black crackle.  What else is there to say?

Cracked Concrete-Sorry about the blurry picture, I struggled with this one a lot.  But I love it!

Here's a picture of my base color.  Santee-Beach Blue.  Amazing cream turquoise.  I bought it for a buck in Florida.  Four days later and it looks pretty much the same.

Overall, I love the China Glaze Crackle collection and know that I will be playing a lot with them!  I cannot wait.

Wet 'n Wild-202AP, Break The Ice

This was surprise for me.  I didn't expect to like it much and was planning on using it as a base or top coat for layering.  However after three coats I got the above look.  It has a very nice pearlized, snow white finish.  I'm not big on white polishes but this was a great one for me.  Sorry about coloring outside the lines.  I usually let the shower take care of that for me since I typically do my nails at night.
