Sinful Colors-Folly

Folly is a beautiful color.  Not much to say!  I do wish I could do this braid myself, I love the look of a fish tail!

Sinful Colors-Seaweed and Sally Hansen Crackle-Ink Splatter

Why did I show this horrible last photo?  I did not shake the bottle before I did my right hand, but I sure did for my left.  Makes a huge difference, doesn't it?  Seaweed is a gorgeous color, I liked it on more than I thought I would.  Favorited, in fact!

Zoya-Sooki and Sinful Colors-Why Not

Well, the colors are bold and beautiful but neither are for me.  Sooki is not a good red match for my skin, although it is a great tomato cream red.  Why Not pissed me off with all the crazy staining, I have never had a polish stain like this one did.  It ticked me off so much that it was sent in for the Zoya exchange, I didn't feel I could pass it on to others and have the stain ghost follow me.

Sally Hansen-Mint Sorbet and Essie-Licorice

The application was horrible for Mint Sorbet, super thick.  However, five days later and I don't really even have tip wear!  Which makes up for how much of a pain it is.  My friend gave me a gift card to get nail polish for when I had surgery so I decided to splurge on a nice black, not cheap, from Essie.  And I can already tell it's great.  I love black polish and Essie has great formula.  I tried to do the fingernail a la Chloe's nails, but it doesn't work well for me!  Oh well.

I got a few polishes the other day.  L-R Sinful Colors-Unicorn (my only yellow polish!), Sinful Colors-Why Not, Sally Hansen-The Real Teal and Sally Hansen-Mint Sorbet (featured in the pics above).  I am saving my money for the new OPI crackle polishes!  I hope I can get my hands on them!

Sinful Colors-San Francisco and China Glaze-Fault Line

I found San Francisco!  Unfortunately the application was horrible and it needs a new home.  I am pretty patient with polish, but this, ugh.  It was horrible.  Pretty enough, but I'll stick with Rimmel's Camouflage.

I then added Fault Line on top and proceeded to be agitated by my nails.  Mardi Gras lover or not, this color combo was not for me.

My Ugliest Manicure to Date.

It all started out well enough.  LA Girls Icon.  It reminds me of Zoya Kelly or Misa Office Polish-tics although I haven't swatched them.  It does have one difference though, a slight gold shimmer.

And then I decided to crackle.  My middle finger and thumb turned out horribly although I was being careful to make sure to put on thick layers to get the big cracks.  And I had made sure the bottle was mixed well before I used it.  Apparently not well enough.  Lightning Bolt....ugh.  I immediately wanted to give it away and take my manicure off.  But no, I decided to go deeper into the ugly.

I thought adding the purple crackle, Fault Line on top would make up for those two horrible nails.  But no.  They did not have a crackle love baby and it just looked like I put purple polish on top.  To further the ugly, I then added Sinful Colors Deep Red Ocean.   Which in fact should be named Deep Pink Ocean.  There is nothing red about it.  I have nothing left to say other than I apologize to my nails and eyes.

Bright nails, dreary day! Sinful Colors-Scandal

I didn't think I liked jellies.  I was wrong.  Scandal is a newer polish that was released with all of those pinks, I haven't seen it recently but I imagine it will pop up again.  Application was meh, but recently that's been my experience with Sinful Colors and they used to be fine for me.  I am hoping this polish lifts my mood some, it's a dreary day and I'm dreading surgery next week although it shouldn't be a big deal and the payoff is that I feel better.  So on with pink and positivity!  Ugh.

Sinful Colors-Boom Boom, China Glaze-Broken Hearted Crackle and Sally Hansen-VIP Pink

I loved this manicure and was, once again, impressed with Sinful Colors.  This manicure lasted at least five days until I took it off with minimal tip wear.  And then I ended up adding Sally Hansen X-treme in VIP Pink.  Which I love, by the way, I can't wait to use it more!

China Glaze-Crushed Candy on top of Wet 'n Wild-Bite the Bullet and Sinful Colors-Nirvana

I started out with Wet 'n Wild-Bite the Bullet.  But I got bored.

So I added Sinful Colors-Nirvana to accent nails.  Which I liked.  It's a new color I picked up the other week.  Plenty of dupes out there.
And then China Glaze-Crushed Candy to finish it off!  I haven't even been wearing it for twelve hours and I already want to take it off and try another manicure with the crackle polish!

Sinful Colors-Under 18

Hate hate hate the name of the polish.  Ugh.  But I love the polish itself.  Excuse the messy application.  This one will be a great full holiday boooom booom boooom red.

Sinful Colors-Mint Apple and Cover Girl-City Lights

Oh la la.  I can move the photos around.  Who knew?  This photo, while blurry, demonstrates the wonderful holographic rainbow of City Lights.  It's easily found and I am going to be personally responsible for everyone loving it.  I've said it before and will again.

Sinful Colors-Forget Now

I was surprised by how much I loved Forget Now.  It's a nice dark raspberry color.  Not red, not pink.  It has tiny bits of glitter, maybe it's a shimmer?  Overall I feel as though Sinful Colors is an underrated nail polish.  They are adventurous with their colors and the price and availability is great.  However, I am aware that for whatever reason they work better on me than others.  A lot of people complain of it chipping easy, but this is not a problem for me.  I use Barielle Hydrating Ridge Filler and then OPI Nail Envy.  Usually two to three coats of color and then Seche Vite on top.  I am very hard on my nails, I type a lot and work "in the field" so they are constantly exposed and working.  When I say field, I mean I'm not in the office, not an actual field although at times when driving in the country I do feel like I work on the farm.  Oh and the funky hand pose...I figured I'd try to go high fashion/couture with it.  I always feel like models looks ridiculous and like they have broken bones while posing and that was my inspiration for this picture.

Sinful Colors-Forget Now

Sinful Colors-Forget Now

Five coats and still VNL. Still a keeper.  I bought this a few weeks ago when Walgreen's had all Sinful Colors on sale for 99 cents.  It's bolder than the photo and has more sparkle.  It reminds me a bit of OPI Wing It! although it is not as orange and a little bit of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in VIP Pink although it's darker.  All of them needed lots of coats and still have VNL.  Out of the three, this one is my favorite.

I've never had a blog before.  It's my birthday!  I've been painting my nails regularly for the past year.  Ever since I discovered Seche Vite, which has been a life changer.  Most of my collection is from the drugstore, although every now and then my budget allows me to stray.  Okay, really, my budget just gets ignored :)  Most of my pics will be taken and posted from my phone.  While it's not the best way to do it, for now my Samsung Vibrant and I will have to make do.
